In 1999, it all started as a labour of love with Nova Scotian entrepreneurs who were inspired by the early grape growers and winemakers in the region. With expertise from Canada and the world’s top oenologists, Benjamin Bridge has been unwavering in the singular pursuit of reflecting its precise set of growing conditions as transparently as possible.

They believe every wine should be surprising, textural and soulful. Being true to nature means letting wild yeasts ferment their wines with as little intervention as possible.

This is a love story. The owners fell in love with the region on their honeymoon and 18 years later they bought the property. This Beamsville property was planted in 2003, and the original winery building was constructed in 2005. Rosewood opened its cellar door and bottle shop in 2008, and have been following their dreams ever since.

Therianthropy

Therianthropy

Therianthropy is a winery project located in the emerging winegrowing region of Creemore Hills, Ontario, and was founded by a group of wine-loving humans who are passionate about cool climate winemaking. Their winemaking approach encompasses the use of organically farmed site-specific fruit, wild fermentations, low intervention, low to zero sulphite additions, no flavour or colour manipulation and no fining or filtering. Their wines are unique, interesting, and fun to drink!

Situated in the Niagara region, this winery creates unique wines through a process of exploration and experimentation. They produce limited quantities of quality wine that reveal the beauty of their wine region. Their approach is very hands-off with low levels of intervention, and they see their  job is to guide the wine as opposed to fixing the wine. Their grapes are carefully hand-picked solely on the basis of skin maturity. This approach enables each grape to impart its unique character in every glass.

Situated on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, Tawse is a family-owned organic winery, voted Canada’s Winery of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2016. Founder Moray Tawse purchased 6 acres on the Cherry Avenue property in 2001. In 2005 he opened his state-of-the-art winery, complete with a six-level, gravity-flow design, geo-thermal system and a wetland bio-filter. The inspiration for his first Niagara property came from his love of Burgundian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Uniting traditional winemaking techniques with state-of-the-art technology, Tawse is dedicated to producing terroir-driven wines of exceptional elegance, depth and character.

Stanners Vineyard

Stanners Vineyard

Stanners Vineyard is a small family vineyard and boutique winery dedicated to producing premium Pinot Noir. Prince Edward County is a relatively cool winegrowing region. Whole berries with no crushing and whole berry fermentation allows for the retention of rich fruit flavours in order to balance the natural acidity produced by our cool climate. Skin contact for reds during fermentation is typically two to three weeks to enhance complexity. Minimal racking for both whites and reds allows for extended lees contact (no stirring) which again enhances the complexity and texture of the wine.

Located atop the Niagara Escarpment in our renowned winemaking Niagara Region, Queylus combines a strong  terroir with the dynamic experience of their Head Winemaker, Kelly Mason, to achieve exceptional elegance to our classically styled wines. Selecting only varieties which they have identified as perfectly adaptable to their vineyards’ complex soils and microclimate, they craft premium, cool-climate wines from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.

Farmgate Cider is a family-owned and operated cidery just outside of Ottawa. They plant, prune, graft, harvest, crush, bottle, label and each bottle is a testament to their commitment. They don’t use pesticides, hormones, or other chemicals on their apples. They don’t add sulphites, preservatives, or additives to their cider. They believe these values make the cider taste better, and we agree!

Founded in 2014, Revel uses characterful native yeast fermentations explore the endless flavours Ontario has to offer. Combining farm-grown and foraged fruits, discovering what the fermentation process yields, and aiming to bring out the best of each ingredient is what makes their products unique and delicious.

Bachelder

Bachelder Wines

This Niagara winery makes wines from local terroirs, using “wild” (indigenous) yeasts, and grapes from older vineyard parcels when they can find them. They encourage low-impact viticulture – especially organics – wherever possible. Everything goes to barrels for long ageing and development – barrels carefully chosen for their “transparency” and ability to help express terroir.

Burdock Brewery

Burdock Brewery  is in Toronto’s west end and they’ve been creatively crafting eclectic suds since 2015. They also have their own brewpub and music hall. A fun place to visit when you are in Toronto. We are thrilled to be offering their products in our shop.

Fourth Wall Wines

Fourth Wall Wines is a nano-batch wine project focused on premium, Ontario VQA bottlings. They  value character, authenticity, and acidity and each bottle produced is a proud collaboration with different winemakers, winedrinkers, and winethinkers.
